2025 is here , and my travel bucket list is brimming with exciting destinations. Here are five countries I’m eager to explore, each offering unique experiences and personal connections:
Thailand: Embrace the Gentle Giants
The Land of Smiles beckons with its promise of unforgettable elephant encounters. At the Krabi Elephant Shelter, I’ll have the opportunity to hug these gentle giants, fostering a deep connection with these majestic creatures.
This ethical sanctuary prioritizes the elephants’ well-being, allowing visitors to interact with them in a safe and respectful manner. The experience of wrapping my arms around an elephant’s massive frame, feeling its warmth and gentleness, is sure to be a transformative moment.
Japan: Unexpected Adventure Awaits
While known for its cherry blossoms and technological marvels, Japan also offers thrilling outdoor adventures. I’m particularly excited to try sand sledding, an exhilarating activity that combines the rush of sledding with the unique texture of sand dunes. This off-the-beaten-path experience will add an unexpected twist to my Japanese journey. Along with trying out Japanese cuisine and of course sushi!
Vietnam: A Heartfelt Return to Kindness
My return to Vietnam will be a heartfelt pilgrimage. Five years ago, during a health scare involving a suspected brain blood clot, a kind-hearted local man paid for my hospital bill.
This act of generosity left an indelible mark on my heart, and I’m eager to return and express my gratitude. This visit will not only allow me to thank him personally but also to rediscover the warmth and hospitality of the Vietnamese people.
Bali: I Missed a Few Waterfall Wonders
The Island of the Gods never ceases to amaze, and I’m convinced there are still hidden gems waiting to be discovered. This time, I’ll focus on exploring Bali’s lesser-known waterfalls.
From the unique Tukad Cepung Waterfall, where sunlight creates a magical atmosphere, to the secluded Leke Leke Waterfall nestled in lush jungle, Bali’s cascading wonders promise to be breathtaking.
Each waterfall visit will be a journey through Bali’s lush landscapes, offering moments of serenity and natural beauty.
New Zealand: A Nostalgic Journey Through Kiwi Paradise
Returning to the land of the Kiwis will be a nostalgic journey. Having first visited at age 24, I’m curious to see if New Zealand’s stunning landscapes and friendly locals have remained as captivating as I remember?
With its diverse scenery, from rolling hills to dramatic fjords, New Zealand is poised to recapture my heart.
